NKDF Grassroots Development Project
Do you have project ideas that could help bring economic benefits to your community? Is your organization lacking the knowledge or experience to locate and access funding? Under the recently initiated NKDF Grassroots Development Project, we may be able to assist you.
The Nechako-Kitamaat Development Fund (NKDF) Society’s programs support sustainable economic activity in northern communities affected by the Kitimat-Kemano project and by the creation of the Nechako Reservoir.
NKDF receives proposals on an ongoing basis for a broad range of projects throughout the investment area. This is mostly due to the efforts of a few skilled proposal writers in each of the communities. Of course the writers are able to develop proposals thanks to funding from a few strategic sources.
Do you have project ideas that could help bring economic benefits to your community? Is your organization lacking the knowledge or experience to locate and access funding? Under the recently initiated NKDF Grassroots Development Project, we may be able to assist you.
The purpose of the Grassroots Development Project is to help jump-start projects at the community level, with a primary goal of leveraging outside funds into the communities in the NKDF service area.
The Grassroots Development Project funds may be helpful to you if:
- You have a project idea that may bring economic benefits to one or more NKDF area communities.
- Your organization lacks capacity to develop proposals or to gain access to the funds to get your project off the ground.
- Your organization meets all of the regular NKDF eligibility requirements, which you will find at http://www.nkdf.org/index.php?page=program-guidelines.
The Board has asked the Manager to identify and invest in grassroots economic development opportunities such as:
- Helping applicants to find funding for economic development projects
- Assisting to bring workshops to communities within the NKDF service area
- Assisting to showcase NKDF-funded projects at strategic events
If you have a project idea you think might qualify for Grassroots Development funding assistance, please call the NKDF Manager at 1-877-478-3863 or email your idea to manager@nkdf.org
