The Grassroots Mini-Conference
Where: The Complex at the Fraser Lake Arena
When: March 10, 2015, 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
The Grassroots Mini-Conference is a practical 3-hour information session and grant writing workshop that will prepare you to access funding from Nechako-Kitamaat Development Fund Society. The session is for anyone with an interest in honing their skills, whether or not you have previous grant writing experience. The ideal recipients for NKDF funding are legally incorporated non-profits and local governments. The mini-conference will include a panel presentation and discussion featuring representatives from previously funded projects, followed by an opportunity ask questions and discuss project planning in a relaxed environment. Jolene Webb will facilitate the Panel Session. Here is a list of the presenters, organizations, and projects.
- Joan McFee, Lakes District Fall Fair Association - Various improvements to the fair Grounds
- Chris Mushumanski, Nechako Valley Search and Rescue Society - Mobile Command Centre
- Guy Epkens-Shaffer, Burns Lake Mountain Biking Association - Various improvements to the bike park at Boer Mountain
After brainstorming project ideas and solutions to problems faced by the community, the Mini-Conference will wrap up with a grant writing workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring their project ideas to focus on during workshop activities.
This workshop will be facilitated by Dan Boudreau, NKDF Manager, and hosted by the Village of Fraser Lake. Light snacks will be provided. The workshop is offered at no charge, but we do ask that you pre-register by calling Jolene Webb at 250-699-8844.
