The District of Vanderhoof saw potential for an improved airport facility to play an important role in broadening the community's economic base. Project goals included: diversification of the local economy, upgrading the airport infrastructure, encouraging new businesses to locate at the airport, and assisting businesses currently using the airport to expand their services. The District of Vanderhoof and NKDF were contributors to this project.
