Description: Vanderhoof Volunteer Extrication Association (VVEA) plans to purchase a new rescue vehicle. The new vehicle will replace the current, out-dated, 1995 Ford 1-Ton. The rescue vehicle is an essential transport vehicle for crew and equipment responding to emergencies. This infrastructure is critical to the ongoing public safety of locals and visitors. The need to update the vehicle is further fueled by increased mining activities, necessitating long hauls to remote locations. The total amount of $75,000 was approved in two segments: the first for $35,000, and the second in the amount of $40,000.
